Teloscope
In short: we don't collect information about you. Teloscope has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. What you enter is encrypted and stays on your device. The app goes online only to download market data from a third-party market data provider with your own key, and to use the App Store for purchases.
Information we collect
None. Teloscope (“the app”) does not send your portfolio, income, loans or any other personal information to us, and we never receive data from it. We don't sell or share information because we don't have any.
What the app saves on your device
To work, the app keeps the following only on your iPhone or iPad, encrypted:
- Stocks you track, your positions, purchases and transaction history.
- Your Pages, modules, formulas and layouts.
- Income Map entries, bills and expenses, and Loan Planner loans.
- Downloaded market data, so it's available offline.
- Your settings and reminder preferences.
Your data key and the app's encryption keys are stored in the device Keychain. If your device is backed up to iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include the app's encrypted files, as it does for most apps; that backup is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Market data
To download prices, dividends and earnings, the app connects directly to the third-party market data provider whose key you enter. Those requests include your data key and the ticker symbols you track, and, like any internet request, reveal your IP address to the provider. They do not include your share counts, purchase prices or any other information you entered. The provider handles these requests under its own privacy policy and your agreement with it. Teloscope does not route this traffic through our own servers.
Backups you create
Backup files are created only when you choose to, and are saved wherever you pick, such as Files or iCloud Drive. They're encrypted with AES-256 and contain only information you entered, never downloaded market data, your data key or backup passwords. A Portable Backup is protected by a recovery password that the app never stores. A Keychain Backup uses an encryption key that can sync through your iCloud Keychain, which Apple protects end to end.
Face ID, Touch ID and notifications
If you turn on App Lock, iOS checks your face or fingerprint; the app only learns whether the check succeeded and never receives biometric data. Reminders for dividends, loans and backups are scheduled on your device and are not sent through any server.
Purchases
Teloscope Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account; the app only learns whether your Pro subscription is active.
Other access
The app does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. It contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting code from third parties.
Children
Teloscope is a personal finance tool not directed at children. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes the information it saved on your device. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay until you delete them. iOS can keep Keychain items, such as your data key, after an app is removed; you can make an old key useless at any time by regenerating it in your account with the data provider.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. We won't start collecting data without updating this policy first.
